The 2nd gen drivers do not work for it. Maybe they'll be made available later on. Meanwhile I discovered a very simple trick to make it work again, and that is to unplug and re-plug the M-Audio after booting the Mac, The M-Audio MobilePre no longer appears in my list of input/output devices.
